I want to thank mr wijeratna for the total success of my shoulder replacement for which I will be eternally grateful. I have not had any pain following the operation and I believe the computer navigation used has made this operation so remarkable. It is now a year since the operation and I am able to do anything I want - which was previously impossible and the scar is almost invisable. I should add that I am 82 years old and was very apprehensive when it was first suggested but it has been the best decision that I have made - without doubt' I had complete trust in Mr Wijeratna from the very first consultation. I just knew I was in the right hands. The operation has made a new women of me and I send my sincere gratitude to Mr Wijeratna and his team .

You have had an excellent result and I think that using computer navigated surgery to place the shoulder replacement implants exactly where I wanted them to be has helped you achieve the result that you wanted! This technology is a game-changer in terms of reducing the risks associated with complicated surgery such as you had.

Mr. Wijeratna and his team are simply the best. They all demonstrated the highest level, when it comes to duty of care towards their patients. The result of my operation, is that my quality of life has improved, as the use of my shoulder is almost back to where it was before my accident. My level of care at Nottingham City Hospital was exceptional throughout the whole day I was there. I would like to wish Mr.Wijeratna & his team, all the very best for a bright & prosperous future.

I had firstly a arthroscopy done by Mr Wijeratna after a frozen shoulder and unable to have injections due to an allergy. This went well and he explained everything that I was seeing on the screen, although he did say that it would only last perhaps six months as I had problems with the ball of the shoulder. It actually lasted a year and a half but unfortunately I was back in pain again. On scans it was revealed that my socket was actually twisted by quite a few degrees. Mr Wijeratna consulted other specialists on how to proceed and it was decided to replace the ball joint only of my shoulder. This went ahead in may 2019 and the after care was excellent, however I fell in july of that year and my shoulder was so painful and I couldn't move it to the proper range. It was decided another operation was needed to release it. This went ahead as soon as possible . I cant believe the magic he worked. I only have one scar which is now hardly noticeable and with Physio and hard work my shoulder is almost perfect with full range of movements. The after care given by Mr Wijeratna and his team is second to none and if I have any queries all I have to do is ask. If you are in pain with your shoulder make an appointment to see him I cant praise him highly enough. He is friendly, approachable and a brilliant surgeon.

We have certainly had an interesting journey together! I'm glad that your shoulder is now performing as well as you want it to and it just shows that patients will reap the rewards if they do their physiotherapy diligently and work hard!
